Q: Can the caffeine in coffee raise my blood pressure?

A: Getting your caffeine fix from coffee won’t increase your risk of high blood pressure, and it may in fact protect you from it. But consuming colas correlated to an increased hypertension risk, say researchers from Boston’s Brigham and Women’s hospital in the Journal of the American Medical Association. “In this study of more than 155,000 women, we are happy to report to all coffee aficionados that their morning or afternoon coffee is not tied to their risk of developing high blood pressure,” said researcher
Dr. Wolfgang C. Winkelmayer.
