Yoga improves your mind and body as well as your sex life

Quiet your mind to make time and space for sex in your life.
The ancient practice of yoga has long been known to have many beneficial effects. Studies have shown that yoga improves general health as well as mental health by decreasing anxiety, lowering blood pressure and heart rate and improving lung capacity. But did you know that it can improve your sexual health too?

Women who practice yoga say they're more aware of their bodies; more accepting of them too. And this is because yoga focuses you on your mind, on your body, and its sensations.

It helps you to ignore the other distractions in your life that can keep you from thinking about or having sex. You know what I am talking about . . . you plan a night out. The kids have gone to their grandparents. You’ve had a lovely time with friends over dinner and now you’re getting into the mood. Then, you start to think about what you have to do tomorrow and boom!, the mood is gone and you’re a million miles and chores away.

It’s very hard to be present and in the moment when we play multiple roles and pride ourselves on being able to multitask. Did you know that multitasking is the biggest barrier to a fulfilling sex life?

Great sex demands focus and single mindedness – and this is exactly what yoga teaches. So, the next time your girlfriend suggests that you take a yoga class with her, go along, your body and your partner will thank you!

Do you practice yoga now? If so, how do you think yoga is helping you?
