There are some basic things that you can do to avoid getting the flu in general, but especially if you are worried about getting H1N1. Wash your hands as often as possible. Gargle with warm salt water and swab a Q-tip with warm salt water in your nose every day. Take your vitamins, especially vitamins C and D. And get plenty of fresh air.

If you think you have H1N1, see your doctor immediately.

Great tips Kimber, I’ve been washing my hands a ton lately, and it really seems to be helping!

I’ve been taking Vitamin D since October 2009 when my sister’s friend said that because there had been so little sunshine this summer where we live, people were lacking Vitamin D and more susceptible to getting sick. Since I had already gotten really sick twice since May, I was not inclined to argue and bought some. I have been taking it once in the morning with my breakfast. I can honestly say that I have not gotten sick once since, not even close. I also walk to/from work, in the cold, snow, whatever Mother Nature throws my way. Still not getting sick. Even if it’s the placebo effect—I don’t care. Still works!

Hi Newbie,
Did you ever think that maybe your flu could be allergies! This year is a particularly bad allergy year. Talk to your healthcare provider if your symptoms aren’t improving within 7-10 days. Feel better!

Hello Friends….....

You can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza by

  * Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  * Washing your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. You can also use alcohol-based hand cleaners.
  * Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
  * Trying to avoid close contact with sick people.
  * Staying home from work or school if you are sick.

Thanks

Good hand washing is the first line of defense against the spread of many illnesses, from the common cold to more serious illnesses such as meningitis, bronchiolitis, influenza, hepatitis A, and most types of infectious diarrhea.

I just want to tell you for real, that H1N1 is not so scary virus, the problem is that it is hard for people who suffer from heart diseases and lung diseases. Healthy people will feel it like a normal flu
